Carrilho da GraÃ§a
JoÃ£o LuÃs Carrilho da GraÃ§a, architect, graduated from Escola Superior de Belas Artes de Lisboa in 1977, the year he initiated his professional practice. His body of work has been recognized with several awards, including: medal from Lâ€™Academie dâ€™Architecture FranÃ§aise in 2012, the the title of â€œChevalier des Arts et des Lettresâ€ by the French Republic in 2010, the â€œPrÃ©mio Pessoaâ€ in 2008, the â€œOrder of Meritâ€ by the Portuguese Republic in 1999 and the â€œAICA Awardâ€ by the International Association of Art Critics in 1992.
Carrilho da GraÃ§a was distinguished with the â€œAIT award 2012 – transportationâ€ for the Pedestrian Bridge over the Carpinteira Stream and with the â€œFrate-Soleâ€ International Prize of Sacred Architecture for the Santo Antonioâ€™s Church in Portalegre in 2012.
