Diogo Cruz is 24 years old and he is Vertty’s CEO. He manages all the operations of the company. Diogo has an Executive Education on Entrepreneurship from Harvard Business School. He also has a degree in Advanced Management from Católica – Lisbon – School of Business and Economics, ranked by the Financial Times as the 43rd best Management School in the World.
Adding to that, he was invited to the Entrepreneurship Education course given by the MIT Portugal and was distinguished with the Excellence in Entrepreneurship award two years in a row by the Nova-School of Business and Economics. At 19 years old he founded his first company: EMOVE – Innovative Technologies (Cleantech Company), winning a 50k grant in 2009 from EDP and Sir Richard Branson. Diogo has lived in five continents, building start-ups in three of them (Europe, Australia, South Africa). He has introduced HelloFresh Company in two countries while being the International Vice-President at Rocket Internet, the world’s fastest growing Venture Capital Incubator.
Diogo has won 11 entrepreneurship awards and was an invited guest writer for the national sustainability yearbook, in 2009, for his work with EMOVE. He has also been invited to be a TED speaker and to present EMOVE at NYSE as one of the 50 best young start-ups in the world. Diogo is the founder of BET, the biggest University Entrepreneurship Club in Portugal.
